Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are used to restore loss of volume in the face& correct wrinkles which do not respond to anti-wrinkle injections.
Juvéderm® ULTRA, when injected, plumps up lines and creases from the underside using substances that are found naturally in the supporting layer of the skin.
Generally this form of treatment is best suited to lines on the cheeks and around the mouth, and the effect is maintained for 6 to 12 months.
Other uses of dermal fillers are for lip enhancement and the creases around the upper lip, crease between the nose & mouth, corner of the mouth when it has a down-turned appearance and general creases in the lower half of the face.
Topical local anaesthetic is used along with the finest of needles and the filler itself actually contains local anaesthetic. Bruising may occur with some initial swelling but theses can be minimised using Auriderm cream. The results are instant ...and natural looking.
Juvederm Voluma is the newest filler from Allergan that is used to plump up areas such as the cheek bones. It has similar effects to that of Sculptra but with fewer side effects. The results last from 12-18months.
